The downtown shopping district in Ichon (i call it the The "Ginza Prominade") is about five city blocks long reserved for pedestrian traffic. But as always here in Korea, watch for the speeding delivery boys on their motor scooters. To them, sidewalks are just another narrow racetrack beset with annoying obstacles... we call pedestrians.
You will find a wide range of shops and eateries in the Ginza. Most at affordable prices. Coffee and Hofs are plenty, as are Korean Restuarants and some Western Restuarants like McDonalds and Popeyes.
For better prices you might try Korea's equivalent of K-Mart, called E-Mart. Its on the far end of town and probably best to take a taxi there.
