Whilst it's possible to take the subway to Suwon, there are also express trains that take 30 minutes or so from Seoul station, as opposed to an hour on the subway.

Very easy way to Suwon, only 50minute from Seoul. This station are train and subway on both station. All trains stop the Suwon and subway line 1. ( subway to Suwon or Cheonan )

Take Subway No. 1 to Final Destination Suwon. From Seoul it's about a 45 minutes ride.
