Jinhae Tower is built on top of the small mountain (90m elevation) near the city center of Jinhae. It therefore awards you with wonderful 360-degree panoramic view of the city.
There is an elevator that offers you a lift to the 2nd and 4th floors. But if you want to visit any of the other balconies, you will have to use the stairs.
The Tower (28m tall) is built like a mast, to honor the naval history of the city. The Japanese originally built a monument here in 1927 to memorialize their victory in the Russo-Japanese war. But the Koreans tore that down in 1945 and constructed the current tower in 1967.
The tower is also home to Jinhae City Museum.

Admiral Yi Sun-shin first built these ships in 1591. While this ship is only a replica dating back to 1980, it was modeled after the historic reports and research by Korea's finest minds.
These ships were wooden hulled, but had an iron top shell, thereby giving it the namesake of a "Turtle". They might have been bulky and slow compared to other ships of the time, but they were impressive armed and even more impressively armored.
The small tour allows you to enter and walk around inside the ship. It might take 30~40 minutes to walk from the city, but is only a short ride by taxi or bus.

Address: Naval port yard of Jinhae
This has always been a naval city. It's home to the Korean Navy and a US naval installation. One of the local landmarks is the big statue of Admiral Yi Sun-shin. During the 1592 Japanese invasion, he led a fleet of Korean warships that decisively defeated the enemy fleet. These were called "turtle ships", due to their sturdy armor. They were the world's first ironclad warships--more than two centuries before they appeared in the West. Admiral Yi is Korea's greatest national hero. The Cherry Blossom Festival pays homage to his memory.

Imagine pink cherry blossoms as far as the eye can see. That gives you an idea what the Chinhae Cherry Blossom Festival is like. The blooms are all up and down the hillsides, lining both sides of every street, and everywhere else you look.
