Warnings and Dangers

Certain attitudes will cause anger

I have travelled throughout Korea for more than a decade and Koje-do is one of my favorite places. Many tourists approach the Korean people with an attitude of superiority, and this will raise some angry reactions. Some foreigners believe that their own language is not spoken by anyone around and will make derisive remarks. Folks, there are 163 universities here. Korea has the third highest percentage of college graduates in the world. Start a belittling spree thinking you will not be understood and you are certain to be treated exactly as you deserve. As long as you are polite and respectful, you will be treated the same way.

Okp'o bowling

I was looking for table tennis (ping pong), but that seemed not to be around. So, we ended up at one of the local bowling alleys.

Okp'o Market

Favorite thing: The Okp'o market is a street market with small shops at the sides and some small supermarkets.

It's ideal for fresh fruit, vegetables and fish and for those small things you forgot to pack.
