10 Flight Reviews

Flying in and out of Busan
Ewingjr98 profile photo
Ewingjr98 4734 reviews

Flights from Seoul to Busan are cheap and convenient. There are some 20-30 flights each day between Seoul's Kimpo Airport and Busan's Kimhae Airport. The flight only takes an hour and costs 70,000 Won, even for a last minute flight!

Kimhae opened at its current location in 1976 and its newest terminal was just completed in late 2007. It handles over nine million passengers annually to numerous domestic and international locations. Parking at the airport is priced around 7,000 to 13,000 won per day depending on day of the week and vehicle size. Numerous city buses and limousine buses also run to the airport for a fare ranging from 1500 to 3000 won each direction. If using the subway, take Line 2 (Green) To Deokcheon Station, leave via exit 6, then take bus 307 directly to the airport.

Chinese Consulate in Busan

If you are in a taxi, your driver should be able to find it with the Korean map given on the web page. If you are finding your own way, like I did, it is tucked away rather well.

The easiest way to find it is by going to the Yacht Marina (near Suyeong 2gyo, Suyeong 2nd bridge). Immediately accross from the yacht center is a Presbyterian Church. Go up from the yacht center, go by the church, and immediately after the church entrance, take a left. The consulate will be about 100m down that road.

Their Visa services are available for drop-offs between 9~11:30am. They can process the Visa in 1-2-4 days depending on the expediting charge. Pick up will at the same location.

Seoul to Busan: 45 minutes

Planes of Asiana Airlines & Korean Air

Korean Air and Asiana Airlines offer almost 40 flights per day (!) from Seoul's Gimpo airport to Busan's Gimhae airport and vice versa. Flight time is only about 45 minutes and you will have some good views onto the Korean peninsula as the entire flight goes right across the country.

As compared to traveling by train, it must be said that Gimhae airport is situated at a slightly remote location about an hours drive (by bus) from the inner city. If you would like to speed things up a little, I recommend to take one of Busan's taxis (please refer to the next tip for details).

Ticket fares vary by season but start at around 60,000 KRW.

From Japan(Hakata City),you can take ship to South Korea. It takes only 3 hours to Busan by high speed ship. If you take ferry (rather slow pace),then it takes about 13-14 hours.

There are many trains a day from Seoul to Pusan.

Depending on the class you choose, the ride takes from 4h 10min up to 5h 20min. Also the price is different. Between W10'000 and W30'000.

The Subway in Pusan is fairly small compared to Seoul, which makes it easier to ride. It's still convenient to get almost everywhere.
