Beomeosa is an historic site, but very much a fully functioning temple and monastery. Please respect this when there and don't enter the areas set aside strictly only for the monks.

The best time to visit Beomeosa is during the week when it is less crowded and makes an idea starting or finishing point for hikes up onto Geumjeongsanseong mountain.

Just south of the business district is Chagalch'i Fish Market. We went there in the morning and could watch the busy scenerie. It was packed and really interessting!
