Generally speaking...

by D_Shannon

Korea is filled with excellent and inexpensive restaurants. Rather than recommend a single place, I suggest you try any restaurant you come across. If it's busy, it probably has good food. My personal favorite foods are galbi, dulsot bibimbop, and kimchi chigae.

Ginseng chicken soup

by beachboy

Ginseng chicken soup, 'samgyetang' is a favorite on hot summer days for people seeking to restore their body and spirit. Served hot, the chicken is stuffed with ginseng, jujubes, glutinous rice, and garlic, then stewed. Season with salt and black pepper when served.

Korean BBQ

by beachboy

Korean BBQ is a popular food among the locals. You can choose from either chicken, pork or beef. One of the best is known as 'bulgogi' which served with fresh beef. There are just too many Korean restaurants around in Seoul. These restaurants are generally small in size but it's very comfortable and cozy.

Fortunately for me, my friend Chae Hyun's other friend from Seoul Chung Yi, is a great cook. I got to sample her special homemade side dishes and main courses. It was a real treat to eat on her table......I just couldn't get enough of her kimchee fried rice, onion pancake, pickled seaweed, pickled raddishes, etc...etc....and such fresh fruits for dessert like strawberries. They seem to be most especially sweet here in Korea compared to other places in the world I've been to :) hmmmm i wonder why.......

The Ultimate Ginseng Chicken Soup

by sheryl_tan

A cosy multi storey resturaunt, nicely decorated to make you feel right at home. It has to be the ginseng chicken soup. Using a young chicken stuffed with rice, the ginseng soup is defintely tasty and "heart-warming" in its claypot. You trip to Korea is not complete with this famous local dish. Served with ramen, you can ask for more if you have a huge appetite.

Kimbap

by sunnywong

This lady is making Kimbap, a Korean version of sushi. Usually it is rice wrapped around stuff like sliced egg omelette, veggies, ham or other things, then wrapped in seaweed. It is good and easy to eat.

Bulgogi (Barbecued Beef)

by sunnywong

beef or other meat roasting it over a fire. This is thought to be the Korea's popular dish, bulgogi. Since bulgogi is usually made with beef, when the word bulgogi is used by itself it refers to beef bulgogi. When pork is cooked by the same method, it is known as pork bulgogi to distinguish it from the original beef dish.

Kimchi (Korean ferment vegitable)

by sunnywong

kimchi made with fermented vegetables and the various kinds of paste made with fermented beans. There are more kinds of kimchi in Korea than there are cheeses in France. Indeed, there are so many varieties that no one knows them all. One university professor has identified more than 100 different ingredients used in making kimchi, 36 of them used as main ingredients. And since these ingredients are combined and matured a little differently in each kind of kimchi and in each family tradition, it is impossible to say exactly how many varieties of kimchi exist.

Revolution Sky Restaurant: Revolution Sky Restaurant

by GenkiMac

We didn't actually like the Korean food we had, so this will be the only entry for restaurants! This was especially cool as it revolved and we got to see the whole view again with no effort involved. Take care when trying to find toilets (which appear to move! as does the bar!) and don't leave anything sitting on the unrevolving part or it will sail past everyone elses tables too. We had Italian I'm embarresed to say! It was nice though and because it was cheap (the mains were about 10,000 won) we had a bottle of wine too. I don't think there was any Korean food on this menu.

Korean BBQ

by Pinoy

My friend took me to a lot of fine restaurants in South Korea and I thought the best was the PISHON. It is positively the finest Korean restaurant in Itaewon specialing in broiled beef ribs (Kalbi), barbecued beef (Pulgogi). You can absolutely enjoy the incredible taste of Korean cuisine here.
