Some of the best marinated kalbi available anywhere. But make sure your uncle's rich or rob a bank on the way, this place is pricey. I had dinner with a friend, the two of us, small skinny things and dinner came out to 130,000 WON, about 100 USD. Kalbi kal bi kal bi, and various other goodies like marinated squid, tenderlion steaks. Must try to bean paste stew at the end. (Dang Jang Chi Gae)

The place has two seating areas, one gives off an aura of the outdoors, the other, a minimalistic, japanesey, late ninites pottery barn feel. I love it. The fusion cuisine is wonderful. Plus the fact that you can get Dae Goo Mae Un Tang, a spicy fish stew in such a nice decor is not bad either. Potato, pollack roe and cheese pizza, I know it sounds strange, but something really tasty about this dish.

Australian Grill, Grand Intercontinental HotelThough the food is five star, not to mention the price, but the resturant stays casual, comfortable. Too many place in Korea are way to pretentious. Grilled Tbone. I really don't know what Aussie cuisine is supposed to be like, but menu here is delightful.

First comes the salad, some sort of a pasty thing, but nonetheless delicous, and some tempura. Then sashimi, some of the best sashimi I've ever tried. I can't even eat the sashimi in the states any more, it has no flavor. Sushi, Nigiri Sushi to be exact comes next. The unagi is to die for. Next its a bit of Korean flavor, some rice with some of the best Dae Goo Mae Un Tang, a spicy fish stew, and some Marinated Crab. Love this place, only problem is you need to make reservation on almost any given night. Place is packed on Fridays and Saturdays. Oh and FYI, like most Japanese resturants in Seoul, this is one of those rob a bank before you come to eat places. Convienent though, Hyundai Invest Bank is on the third floor of this building. Cash out your 401K and have a nice dinner, I'm serious, I have about just enough 'invested' to buy a dinner for four here. Kure DungSheek, its a set...

there are so many restaurants here that you cannot help being in trouble with desiding where to go in. And I recomend you to understand Korean charactor and at least the name of some food. That may double your joy in Korea.

Mr. Kim's Pork Restaurant: If you like spicy and fatty meat this is the place

by Ladebackchic

This was a mom and pop or should I say Ajimma and Adjeshee restaurant that sported the traditional "hatted" statues famous to the southern island of Jeju-do.They went out of their way to communicate the best they knew how to all foreigners that came in. Tey served the best Cham-shee Chigae (tuna stew) in Seoul. They boasted the famous black pig pork from Jeju-do with a bbq to die for.

BULGOKIKorean BBQ, you grill the meat at the table in the restaurant. The beef meat has been in a marinade to get the good taste. You grill the meat in the table place it in a cabbage leaf add a garlic clover, make a roll of it and eat. Inexpensive and I liked it very much.Usually consumed with soju (rice wine ~20 % alcohol)tastes like finnish koskenkorva.

For great Kamja-Tang, you have to go to the corner shop across the street and north one block of Young-San station! The place looks divey, but the food is great! Price is around $7. KamJa-Tang--First, you must be willing to eat pork. They take big chunks and cook it with spices and potatoes... you eat it with Korean alchohol (Soju!) Don't do it alone... email me instead!

Just try the chicken on the stick I dare you, but just to let you know it isn't chicken. This is a little stand off of the main road, I ate here and it was actually fairly good, even though I have no idea what I ate.

Present at every meal, it's often eaten as a side dish. Most Koreans cannot do without Kimchi in their meals.Yummy. At first, the taste put me off. But I grew to like it as it's refreshingly tart, spicy and whets your appetite! The secret to the Koreans beautiful complexion, is not the Insam/Ginseng (it may have helped) but the Kimchi.. which contains lots of vitamins and minerals!Yummy.Note: The picture is taken from a website.Back in Singapore, I cannot live without Kimchi too... Kimchi - the National Dish of Korea. It's a dish of a type of fermented vegetable (e.g. Cabbage, Radish, Cucumber etc.) seasoned with red peppers and garlic.
