Favorite thing:
The museum is located at the back of Kyongbok'kung Palace. It also had free entry on National Day. The museum was very, very good. It wasn't possible to take pictures inside but there were some interesting exhibits outside such as this traditional Korean house which has been brought to Seoul from the countryside.
For more pictures of the National Folk Museum please look at my Palaces of Seoul travelogue.
