Other Things To Do: Night Stroll Along the Han River
  • Tip Rating:
  • Han is a very big river that runs through the center of the city. It was full moon then and the night views of the Seoul lights created a dreamy effect...I run out of adjectives!

At the grassy areas along the river, there are several food stands located that sell beverages and snacks. Many of these shops are open 24 hours.

Sorry if the picture is blurred...I was shivering while taking that shot hahaha.

    Info from Korea Travel Guide:
    HAN RIVER

A symbol of Seoul, the Han River runs through Seoul east to west, with an average depth of 2.5m and width of 175m. The river is crossed by 23 bridges and there are excursion boats plying between Yeouido and Jamsil.

At 12 different points along the 41.5km-long riverbank are Hangang Riverside Parks equipped with sports facilities such as soccer and baseball fields, volleyball and basketball courts and swimming pools. Facilities for water skiing, yachting, boating and fishing are also available.

Wear a nice comfortable pair of walking shoes and warm jacket. The night can be sooo cold.

Hip Hop/Clubs: Limelight Night Club - Itaewon

Located in the heart of Itaewon, under the Hamilton Hotel, Limelight is the area's best nightclub. Though it can be pretty good before midnight or one o'clock, after hours is when Limelight really starts to rock. Many weekend nights, it will stay open until the sun comes up... Wednesday is men's night and Thursday is ladies night.

Sure drinks are relatively expensive, but no where else in the heart of Itaewon will you find a place like this.

Other Things To Do: Theatre Show
  • Tip Rating:
  • Nanta means "hard pounding" in Korean so as you can guess, the theatre production "Nanta" is a percussion comedy show similar to something like "Stomp" or "Tapdogs" but using kitchen equipment. It's about this group of chefs in a restaurant that have only an hour to make a banquet. Anyway they use real food on stage and had real soup which they got a couple of people from the audience to sample and the percussion includes knives on wooden blocks, pots and pans and whisks in collanders etc etc. It was extremely good and very very funny. It's a must see in Korea.

    Gecko's Terrace: Popular Itaewon bar
  • Tip Rating:
  • Gecko's is one of the most popular bars in Itaewon. It attracts a lot of foreigners, ranging from Canadian English teachers to American G.I.'s from the nearby base.

There is reasonably-priced draft beer and bar food: mostly western-style stuff like burgers and steak sandwiches.

If you are new to Seoul and don't speak any Korean, this is a good place to go. All of the bar staff and most of the customers speak English.

    Relaxed.

    Hip Hop/Clubs: Hip hop
  • Tip Rating:
  • Itaewon has everything you want for hip hop if your a hip hop fan this is the place you want to go. There's more then hip hop there's rock clubs, the only reason everything is there is becuase of american army. These clubs will have more foreigners then koreans, so if you feel like you have had enough broken english for a while then this would be the place to go.

    Hip Hop/Clubs: Hip hop
  • Tip Rating:
  • NB is a hip hop club in the Hong-ik area. It the night i was there it was playing mostly old school rap like naughty by nature and old dre and ice cube ( It depends on what night you go). It was very busy. It was full of alot of korean guys acting like they were hardcore or like they were trying to be black. It just made me laugh.
The only problem with this place is that if your not korean and your not a girl they are going to charge you 20,000 WON to get in when every one else pays 10,000.

Other Things To Do: Salsa night!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Want salsa, but too new to adventure?
This is for you. They have free lessons almost everyday, and once you learn the basic steps, half is already done.
    .......
ok ok. I am a bit exaggerating. but it's true that they have free lessons everyday, I am very new though, and also I don't think I was talented about dancing, but was a great fun to be there. There are also many warm-hearted people, who'd be willing to dance with you even htough you can only do basic things.. =)

whatever suits you the best. you can also bring your clothes there and get changed int he club. =)

    Other Things To Do: Myeongdong
  • Tip Rating:
  • A good place where to go in the evening is Myeongdong.
There are many shops (where you can buy the latest fashion), little restaurants and cafés, live music and pretty girls :-)
The national souvenir center is also located there. You can buy a good selection of typical korean souvenirs for very good prices in the shop, for example wooden boxes with ornaments, green pottery (which had its origin in the Koryo-dynasty), postcards, bookmarks and, and, and ....

And don´t forget to visit Myeongdong Catholic Cathedral - its the oldest in Korea.

    There is no dress code
