Ok, I labled this as a dance club. It is more like overpriced meat market. Here is the deal...
You pay your waiter for a seat. The best seats are the most expensive, and will go for upwards of 100,000 won per person. This entitles you to a seat near the dance floor and a bottle of semi-quality scotch. Plus, when you tip the waiter, they start grabbing women from all over the club to come and sit with you. The more you tip, the more women they bring. These are not prostitutes, but often college age girls who want to meet a man, or find someone to dance with, but are too shy to do so on their own. Or so I have been told.
Western folks have a harder time than the locals, but if you speak the language, you should be ok. The only thing is, the bill can run up really quick! I know guys who have blown $1500 US in one night at places like this. So, keep an eye on the tab, unless you have money to burn.
Dress Code: It is a dance club, so you can get away with pretty much anything that is not too trashy. But I have found I do better in dockers and a dress shirt.
This club "lounge" is located in central Itaewon just next to the Hamilton Hotel.
Cost: 10,000won up front (just to enter. nothing special)
You walk in and go downstairs to a dark featured room. There's a place to check your coats for a price. There are almost no tables or chairs for sitting, and few standing tables. At the far end there are many tables and booths - but you're not allowed to sit there. They are reserved for big spenders.
- The music isn't special. Just some loud dance music. When I went with my friends, there were very few people, although it was after 9pm.
- Drinks are high priced (which is what you should expect).
-The staff were extremely rude.
There is absolutely nothing special about this place other than the location and the fact that it has the same name as a club/lounge that WAS good. I strongly recommend you go somewhere else, but if you must try it - lower your expectations.
Considering there are so many places to go within a 5 minute walking distance... stay away from B One (B1).
