Event Bar, Seoul

This is a great little spot. The Outsider is a branch of the San Francisco bar (run by the owner's wife) but the one in Yeouido is all Korean. It's not a room salon (girls for hire) but it's more personal than a regular bar, as you normally share a lovely lady with one to two other groups.

It's split up into a Main (long) bar, 3 'A', 'B' and 'C' oval bars (each manned by 2 girls each) and 6 private rooms as well as casino tables (baccarat, blackjack, roulette). The casino isn't real money, though. When you spend 100,000 won (about 80USD) you get a 100,000 won chip and can play all you want. The chips aren't worth anything (they'd need an other license for that) but it makes for some fund when you're there. Some patrons have over 1,000,000 won in won/bought chips.

There are also events and giveaways like: bingo, flaming/juggling, dancing (by the bar girls and pros) and other things...usually at 10PM or 10:30.

The staff are great and many speak English, at least a bit, and some know a little Japanese too.

Dress Code: Most guys have suits on, but you can get away with anything here.

cf usually means "commercial film" (advert) but here it means 'contemporary fusion'. It's fusing drinks and lovely bartenders to arrive at a fission reaction between hammered men and their won.

It's a nice place like The Outsider (also reviewed by me): girls to pour drinks (and nothing else); a bit darker on the lighting; no casino games or special events--but quite nice. cf is perhaps a better place for more private entertaining as there are booths (which The Outsider lacks) there as well as totally private side rooms. All in all, not a bad place.

Dress Code: Many guys there have suits on, as it's in the financial district, but khakis are fine...you may get away with shorts, but you'd be the first in there sporting them.

The best way to describe this nightclub is to referece the Tom Cruise movie "Cocktail". It is a tiny club in the middle of Hyewa, where every waiter, barmaid and bartender... even the hostess who will seat you, can do bottle juggling tricks. And let me tell ya, it is impressive.

there is a show every 2 hours, once things start getting past 9 pm. It begins with a contest for free drinks, based on picking the member of the bar staff who can catch the most bar cups flipped into another cup held behind their head. Every table gets to bet on this. Typically the guy who goes by Peter Pan, or the girl named Mimi are the two best. But be safe and bet on P.P. as Mimi has bad streaks.

After that, cue the music and begin the show. Bottles fly everywhere, people breathe fire, and the jokes come constantly. It is a rapid fire show that always seems to impress, no matter how many times I have seen it.

Plus, they have a nice selection of alcohol to chose from.
