Located near Insa-Dong (5 minute drive from main area of Insa-Dong) in the Art Sonje Center (just go into the Sonje Center and turn right) Dal has REAL Indian/Indo food. The butter chicken, naan, roti, and everything is just awesome. The kebabs are a treat--they come on a hanging rack which makes for a nice table centrepiece. Staff is Korean, and I think the chef is too...but that was not a problem at all (I get worried when staff are not from the ethnic region). There are private rooms and everything is cozy without being confining.
Favorite Dish: The butter chicken. No utensils, I love to scoop it up (with rice) with the succulent naan bread. This was perfect.

Let's jsut sum it up with: this is the FIRST 5-diamond restaurant in Korea. For 88,000 you can have a set of lobster, steak, salad....likely 350,000 for two if you have champagn and some wines. All in all, a great experience.
Favorite Dish: Steak vs. lobster...who can choose?

This traditional teahouse is located on the third level of National Museum of Korea. The place serves a variety of Korean tea at affordable prices including green tea cultivated in Jiri Mountain, floral tea blended with various herbs, and fruit tea with rich aroma of citrus from Jeju Island. After spending a few hours in this large museum, this is the right place to relax and recover your energy. Sayu is open on weekdays (except Mondays) 9 am-5 pm and weekends 9 am-6 pm.
Favorite Dish: All tea options are very interesting

There are dozens of food stalls in Gwangjang Market offering various types of food such as bindaetteok (mung-bean pancake), fish, sausages, porridges, kimchi, dumplings and more. My favorite is the mung-bean pancake which you can see how it is prepared from the start. It's very delicious and one portion would be enough for two. Also the porridges are amazing and worth a try. The prices are really cheap here and you have the chance to mix with the locals.
Favorite Dish: Bindaetteok and pumpkin porridge

While strolling in the streets and alleys of Namdaemun Market, you are likely to get hungry. At that point, take your time and get a seat in one of the noodle stalls. They have both cold and warm noodles and you can add some hot sauce to make it even more mouth watering. I really enjoyed here a lot.
Favorite Dish: Cold and warm noodles

You have to try Korean BBQ while you are in Seoul. There are so many restaurants for all budgets in the city. Most of them have Korean names that I can't pu in as tips so I made a general tip without a specific address. Some of these restaurants have seating on the floor and some have tables with the grill in the middle. You can prepare your barbeque on your own or you can ask some help from the waiters. After choosing your meat which can be beef or pork, the plate comes with appetizers and kimchi and the feast starts. You can also get grilled fish in some of these restaurants. I put three pictures from different restaurants to give you some ideas.
Favorite Dish: Beef and kimchi

Fresh House is the best buffet option in Seoul. The wide variety is satisfactory and very delicious. Soups, salads, starters, sushi, steak, grills, local meals, pizza, pasta, noodles, cakes and desserts are some of what you can find in the buffet. The restaurant is elegant and peaceful. The drinks are not included in the price you pay. Monday to Friday, buffet price is about 27000 W. The weekends cost more. The lunch buffet starts from 11:30 to 15:00. The dinner buffet is from 17:30 to 22:00. I fell in love with the steaks and sushi here.
Favorite Dish: Steak and sushi

It's an hour or more ride to this town. The grilled beef is famous here - we got there at 11+am and by the time we left, the queue had stretched to the entrance. We had the Gamagoll Galbi (Marinated and Grilled Beef Ribs), costing about 32,000 won. It comes in a huge serving (believe me, we nearly couldn't finish it) and with many, many side dishes such as kimchi, salad, sweet potato etc etc.
All I can say is, this is really really good stuff. Well worth the trip we made out to eat there. I would count this as really authentic korean food.
Favorite Dish: Popular menu items:
Gamagoll Galbi (Marinated and Grilled Beef Ribs): 32,000 won
Cheonhaeyeom Galbi (Grilled Beef Ribs Marinated in Mineral Salt): 38,000 won
Teukseon Yukhoe (Sliced Raw Beef): 35,000 won
Naengmyeon (Cold Buckwheat Noodles): 6,000 won
