This building has despite its name only 60 floors. They just counted the 3 floors in the basement as well. It used to be Korea's tallest building with its 249 metres. It was built 1985.

You can go up to the observatory desk and have a great view over Hanriver and Seoul Tower.

63 Building is a skyscraper in Yeouido Island. It is the tallest in Seoul. A major attraction wherein you can get a panoramic view of the city. There are many activities you can engage inside. Some of the highlights are the aquarium & IMAX theater. Aquarium is impressive with a huge collection of fishes in different species. Offices, restaurants, coffee shops & banquet halls can also be found inside the building.

63 Building is one of the landmarks in Seoul. There are many attractions and restaurants inside, but one of the most interesting one is 63 Sky Art Gallery which claims to be the highest art museum in the world. The gallery is located on 60th level which is 264 meters above. It takes 1 minute to go up or down. Besides the art gallery, you can take breathtaking pictures of the city. The admission fee is 12000 W per person. You can also have combined tickets for Sea World and Imax Theatre. From the web page you can get more details.

63 building offers a beautiful view of Seoul and its surrounds. You will be surprised to see how big Seoul actually is. Each side of the skydeck has a display pointing out noticeable buildings and other landmarks. The entrance fee for the skydeck is W 7000 for adults. There is also a package tour which includes the imax and aquarium for W22 000.

When I visited this 63-story building in 1989, it was the tallest building in the Far East. Today, others have taken that distinction. But the Observation Deck still offers a tremendous view, and is a nice place to visit for a few hours. Check out the international food court. It also has an IMAX theater, aquarium, and more.

It's also known as KLI 63, or the Korean Life Insurance Building. I understand that today many simply call it the 63 Building.

View of Seoul and Han River

From this 63 Storey building observation desk, you can see the many bridges across Han River (Hangang) and the river park where locals fly their kites, ride bicycles or are jogging.

You can see the view of the city though it is a bit far away that is not located right in the middle. Seoul Tower is supposedly has a better view. But it is Yook-Sam (63) which is easy to reach and park your car.

The 63 viewed from Seoul tower

The 63 is Seoul's tallest building. The problem is that it is south of the Han River, away from most of the other tourist attractions. As I got great views from Seoul Tower, I have never been to the top of 63 myself. But, until the observation deck at Seoul Tower re-opens on November 1, 2005, the 63 building would be the best alternative for views of Seoul.

You won't be surprised to hear that it has 63 stories. It was built in 1985 and is 249m high.

It's the biggest building in seoul and it has a really good view. it cost 6,000 Won alittle bit pricey i thought, but becuase i'm a tourist I had to go see it. The observation deck is on the 60th floor... They say 63 but there is only 60 because 3 of the floors are underground so they don't count. There was also aquarium and a imax theater, but i never had time to visit them. Also after you leave the observation deck they push you into the little shops and a food court.

View of Yeouido Apartments from 63 Building

The highest building in Korea is 63 Building. The observation floor is actually the 60th floor but there are a coupld floors of air conditioning and elevator stuff on top and 3 basement floors--either way it lives up to its name.

You have 2 options to see the view: (i) pay about 7,000 won (6USD) to go up in the glass outside elevator in the daytime or (ii) pay nothing to go up the inside elevator at night and have a beer at the bar (cost: about 7,000 won for the beer). During the day the entire floor is viewing, but at night half of it is converted to a bar. I personally like the night view better...looking down at the 88 Expressway at the red and white lights and the rest of the city is just amazing.

There is also an IMAX theatre, a food court, shopping, 2 Japanese restaurants, a massive buffet, Chinese and Korean restaurants...and close to the Hangang (Han River) Park. (Check site for more.)

    The "63" Building

    The 63 Building in Seoul

Visit the '63 Building' ("yuke-sam" in Korean)and the nearby waterfront.
If you find yourself south of the Han river, take in the '63 Building' (so named because it has 63 floors, though 3 of them are below ground level. You can save money by buying a multiple ticket which allows entrance to the IMAX movie theatre, the aquarium, and the observatory on the top floor . Because there's less smog, you actually get a better view of Seoul here than you do at Seoul Tower on Namsan Mountain.
Nearby is the Han River where you can rent bicycles or take a river cruise (recommended for couples only).

    Nightview of anywhere is...

Nightview of anywhere is always beautiful unless it's rainning. :) Seoul is also same. And 63 Building's golden glow at sunset is one of Seoul's eye-catching views.
On clear days one can see as far as 50km, including Incheon, from its observation platform. The clear glass elevator from the 1st underground floor to the top floor offers changing views of Seoul from different heights. In addition, there is the biggest indoor aquarium, 63 Sea World, teeming with 20,000 marine animals of 400 species, and the I-Max Theater presenting films on a screen three times larger than a 70mm screen.
