 | South Korea Sports Travel | Tips 1 - 10 of 23 | | Seoul Olympic Stadium is located at Jamsil Sports Complex at Songpa-gu in Seoul. The stadium was officially opened to the public in 1984. It was used in the opening and closing ceremonies of Seoul Olympiad in 1988. It was also used for the 10th Asian Games two years earlier. Seoul Olympic Stadium has a capacity for approximately 70,000 spectators although the original capacity was for 100,000 spectators. The stadium was designed by Korean architect Kim Swoo Geun. Seoul Olympic Stadium today is used for local and international football matches, athletics events and other sporting events. The stadium is home to Seoul United of K3 League. It is also used for popular concerts by local and foreign artists once in a while. Leave a Comment

There are 3 places to hit balls in Korea: 1. One of the many driving ranges--you'll know them from the green netting. Balls are a bit more expensive than you amay be used to, and some of them are on 2 or 3 tiers so the feel is a little different from hitting one into a field, but at least they are located within the city. 2. Public golf courses. These are located outside the city and have some amentities. I've never been to one, but I hear they are a little more spartan than private ones. Cost is likely about $50 a round. One 9-hole (with driving range) North of Seoul is 1-2-3 Golf. 3. Private courses. These have memberships (they are quoted in the newspaper, just like stocks) costing USD 100,000 to 300,000 and are 'stocked'. Everyone gets their own (usually female) caddy. There are snack huts on holes 4, 9 and 13. A sauna for afterward, a country club and restaurant for meals and entertaining, valet service and other extras are also available. Count on spending about USD 1,000 per foursome for the whole experience. The best club North of Seoul is Song-Choo C.C. (country club, pronounced she-she) and Jisan C.C. South of Seoul is good as well (it is actually 3 9-hole courses you can mix and match--and an escalator between some holes!). It is appropriate to tip caddies after a round, and buy them a snack, if you like.
You can rent equipment at the courses...the private ones have Callaway clubs, of course. Leave a Comment

Yongin Caribbean Bay is an enormous park at 35,000 pyeong (about 15 Hectares), Caribbean Bay, next to Everland amusement park, contains 18 outdoor and 12 indoor facilities. The wave pool, the "adventure pool" (which includes a waterfall that pours out 2.4 tons pf water from a skull-shaped water bucket every three minutes), A 28-meter-high water bobsleigh, that is GREAT, A ahigh-speed tube Ride that takes you rapidly downstream through a long semicircular or cylindrical pipe and a GINORMOUS wave pool are some of the features. Another thing that can't be omitted is the Lazy River; The world’s longest pool. The Lazy River stretches an incredible 550 meters! You can travel indoor and outdoor on a lazy rider tube ride experiencing cool summer of the outdoor and hot winters in the indoors. I love this, it's great to chill. Before you get back to the Surf Pool, and carve up on the continuous wave... Carribean Bay Rocks. The Water Parks in Korea are really amazing.
You have to wear a bathing cap and a good swimming costume. They are available if need be. Caribbean Bay is NOT Cheap. Admission is 60,000 won (55USD) for adults, 45,000 won (40USD) for children; it's 15 percent less when entering after 2:30 p.m. Leave a Comment Theme: Beach ActivitiesAddress: Yongin, Kyeonggi DoPhone: (031) 320-5000Directions: Take Gyeongbu Expressway, exit at Singal Interchange and take Yeongdong Expressway (for Wonju and Gangneung), and exit onto Maseong Highway to arrive at Everland.Website: http://eng.everland.com/Er/htm/Er_Cb.htm.

Maybe swimming pools seem too mundane to you. And the ocean is too far away. A water park is a good alternative. Here, the grown-ups can relax in spas while children play on water rides, or change places and have the kids hang while the grown-ups go mental. Alot of the activities at these parks aren't for kids. There's something for every family member at most of these parks. There are many of these Water parks in Korea. Yongin Caribbean Bay is teh most famous. But my fave thus far is "Aquapia" in Cheonan. Cheonan Sangnok Aquapia is Korea's largest indoor water park at 3,500 pyeong (nearly 2 hectares), Aquapia's facilities include a 12-meter-high slide, a "flow rider" (for those who enjoy surfing) and a flowing stream pool, which, with its fast current and water pouring down from above, might make visitors feel like they're rafting. A great course. So large, which is great for Korea. However the fees are pretty steep. But they are worth it. This course is large enough, and far enough away from Seoul to be able to have a good hit. The Outer course is best because Punter golfers like me can really get into the swing of things (parden the oun). Golfers can hit the ball as far as they can and truly enjoy that here. The layout here is well designed. The Inner Course (middle) is a bit cleaner, and its all about playing for the green. Also its more expensive. Sangnok Resort - Cheonan offers 100 hotel rooms and 48 youth hostel rooms. A double-occupancy hotel room or a four-person youth hostel room costs 93,000 won.

After a 2-hour-walk through the Provincal Park of Seonunsa we came to a very idyllic and peaceful place. Korea a many national parks and provincial parks which invite to go hiking or do other sports.
You need good shoes when going hinking. Also the weather can change in mountain areas. So take a rainproof jacket or some other rainproof equipment with you. Leave a Comment Theme: Hiking

The area we came was very nice and their were also some interesting houses there, which look very interesting and typical korean. It is interesting to see that the roofs are completely made of wood. I had also some good sunshine and so I could photograh it well. Click on the picture to see the roof better and the other details of this house. Leave a Comment Theme: Hiking
