The twinning leads to joint projects and exchanges between the communities. At the university, where I teach, for example, there are a lot of exchange students from Daejeon's Chinese sister city of Nanjing.

Daejeon is a vibrant, youthful city. It has a massive student population, big stores are open 24/7 and many clubs and bars are open all night.
