Hye Song Ok is a traditional Korean restaurant which specializes in Daejeon's local dish, Seolleongtang. It also serves very good Galbitang. These are two types of beef soup. Seolleongtang contains slices of beef with thin noodles while Galbitang contains chunks of stewed beef on the bone.
Prices are very cheap. You can buy Seolleongtang, accompanied by side dishes for just 4,000 won.

Pho Chao Restaurant is the only Vietnamese restaurant that I know in Daejeon. It is a small, modern place with efficient service and reasonable prices. And the good thing is there are tables and chairs, so you don't have to sit on the floor. I have eaten here twice so far, and will return.
As the name indicates, the restaurant specializes in Pho or Vietnamese noodles. Other dishes include chili rice and spring rolls.
Most dishes are priced at W5,000 or W6,000.
Favorite Dish: My favourite dish was pho with tenderloin, which is a meat and noodle soup.

Daejeon is a vibrant, youthful city. It has a massive student population, big stores are open 24/7 and many clubs and bars are open all night.
