Daejeon's professional baseball team, the Hanwha Eagles, was founded in 1986 and in 1999 became national champions.
They play at the Hanbat baseball stadium, which has a capacity of 13,242. The atmosphere at the games is great, with lots of chanting and singing.
Evening games start at 6.30pm. General Seats, in front of the cheerleaders, cost W5,000 per game. Designated table seats, behind the catcher, cost W10,000. You can bring your own food into the stadium or inside you can buy fried chicken, burgers, kimbab, noodles, soft drinks and cans of beer.
