Mantas at Miil Channel *
Miil Channel -- Amazing clear water unlimited visibility in this sheer vertical drop off starts at a about 2 meters and doesn’t end until it hits the bottom 200 meters later kilometers later. A small ledge can be found at 33 meters where leopard sharks are often seen. The wall is soft corals, sponges and gorgonians with large schooling fish everywhere and one of the world’s great spots for Mantas. This is simply an amazing and totally awesome dive! Mantas show up at Miil Channel on everyday between November and May. The channel is 90 to 100 feet deep with a ridge rising to about 33 feet. One can drift dive at the very end of the incoming tide, then just as the tide begins to shift the Mantas appear. The Mantas will hang in the current and perform sweeping loops as they feed of the rich plankton coming of the Mangrove swamps of Yaps shoreline. Next something really fantastic as the tidal...
