Kandy Perahera.

by Emichelle

The Kandy Perahera which is a very significant event in Sri Lanka & draws many people local & foreign alike. It happens in Kandy the home to the Dalada Maligawa. The Perahera begins 10 days prior to Poya Day in the month of August ( may sometimes vary). The Start day & time could change just a little bit, cause they look for a "Nekath" good time. Most buddhist customs are performed upon looking at a good time. In the perahera you will see approx 100 elephants, Kandyan Dancers, Fire Walkers, Oriental Drummers and Many more. Hope you guys can make it to see the Kandy Perahera at least once in your lifetime. Its amazing.Enjoy Sri Lanka !!!
