 Nilanka Says:  The best and cheapest way to get to Matale is to take the intercity train from Colombo to Kandy (Rs.200/- and takes 2 1/2 hours) and then take and intercity air conditioned bus from Kandy to Matale (Rs.25/- and takes 45 mins)
