If you've read any of my other pages on Sri Lanka you won't be surprised to know that nightlife in Nuwara Eliya is minimal and mainly contained in top hotel bars. As far as I know, there's one pub in town - The Lion Pub (named after the beer) on Lawson Street, north of the golf club. It's cheap and reasonably cheerful and open till 11. The only exception is over Sinhala New Year, when the town bursts into life and there are huge parties in all the hotels and out on the streets.
