Rukmali rest and guest: Great Sri Lankan Curries
This establishment is a small guest house and restaurant. The restaurant is quite good if you go for the local Sri Lankan curry and rice set. We got two plates of rice, various bowls of veggies and curry. I loved the beet curry.
sigiriya village restaurant: beautiful food
The food at the restaurant of the Sigiriya Village Hotel is very beautiful... it's actually more than beautiful, it's spectacular. It's a buffet, of course, but the chefs have taken their time in carving and decorating some pumkins and squashes. Very eye (and photo) catching.
Favorite Dish: Despite its beauty the food looked like all the other buffets that we saw across Sri Lanka... talk about a serious lack of imagination at very high prices. We opten for a-la-carte: we had delicious king prawns at a much cheaper price than their curries chicken and beef buffet.
Shenadi Restaurant: fresh local food cooked by mum
Enjoy the taste of mum's cooking at this small eatery open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had a wonderful breakfast of String Hoppers, Dahl curry and Pol Sambal perfect not too salty and not too oily. Ranjeewa the owner is a very pleasent young man and he keeps his prices low offering best quality for your budget. I can highly recommend eating here and there is seating outside so you can people watch as well

Choota Restaurant: Nice place
The portions are quite big, the local food is good and reasonable but they have only one stove and if the place is full it can take a while to get your food.
It is close to many of the cheaper accommodations and you can wait there for the bus to Dambulla which will drive there extremely slow and stop as soon as he sees a possible passenger.
