Fernando's Bar serves sri lankan cuisine as well as western cuisine. There is something to delight everyone's palate. Seafood dishes as well as curries, fried rice, sweet & sour and more. The management intend to start barbeque nights in season.
The bar not only offers spectacular views but also much needed shade from the warm sunshine. During season tables and chairs are placed on the beachfront a lovely romantic setting.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served from 8am - 10pm. Lion lager served cold as well as other refreshments. English style breakfast is served here and soon french toast and pancakes will be added to the menu available until 3pm for those who do not like early starts!
During the day relax under the shade of the bar or in one of the hammocks and read a book while enjoying a fresh fruit juice or of course cold beer.

If you feel like venturing into town for some local food this is a pretty clean cafe to eat in. They do kotthu which is a thick rice noodle with chopped chicken, egg & chilli's a real art to make you will know if they serve it just follow the chopping sounds. This place also does mixed meat in gravy (this includes offal), beef, chicken pieces, curry chicken as well as roti.
Eat with your hands like the locals, wash the plate first and there is usually a place to wash your hands.
By the way even though this place calls itself a hotel it is not a guest house this is something common in Sri Lanka as there is no law against it

A popular place to get delicious fresh fruit juice in town. Drop in here if you are feeling a bit hot and bothered whilst shopping in town. You can enjoy your fresh fruit juice even with a scoop of ice-cream. Do be sure to tell the staff you don't want added sugar as locals tend to have a much sweeter tooth.
I have tried woodapple & mixed fruit juice to date. They will also provide you with a plate of shorties these are deep fried bites like samoosa, chicken or egg rolls very nice indeed! You only pay for what you eat.
Favorite Dish: meat samoosa & mix fruit juice
