After a rainforest trekking from the area south of the Horton Plains we had to catch the train in the small trainstation of Idalgashinna. Luckily the train was 45 minutes too late, so we had some time to buy a drink in a local foodstall.

When the train is in the last station before Idalgashinna a bell starts to ring, so the people know the train will arrive soon. I see men turn handles. They take a plate from one of the machineries. They explain that this is first possible after they get the sign fomr the other station. They put that plate in a leather bag and give this bag to the engine driver to bring to the next station. The exchanging of the plates went very fast while the train was still moving.

During the very slow train ride we had spectacular views at the deep valleys and tea plantations. The windows are open. There are benches with two and three seats.

The next day we came back by train to Idalgashinna to do another trekking in the area.

All aboard, we will leave the station soon inside the train, juggling boys the office at the trainstation the office at the trainstation
