Rogers Garage on the main road in Hikkadua does an excellent rice and curry for 90Rs, you can also watch a movie there at 7.30pm every night and there is a pool table.

The Bluenote Restaurant has satalite TV and draught beer and also serves food, Although the TV is usually tuned into German stations.

The Private Place is not really a restaurant but it does sell the coldest beer in Hikkaduwa.

One of the most popular places that I heard about in Hikkaduwa was the Spaghetti house owned by an Italian, They do good pasta and pitzas so I am told.

Neelas Restaurant on the beach serves nice food but I found the portions small.

The Curry Bowl in Hikkaduwa serves nice food but the portions I thought were a bit small.

Fresh fish is about the most readily available food in Sri Lanka and it is delicious and the most inexpensive.

Lobster is available every-where especially on the coast, it is more expensive than most fish dishes and it is usually ordered the day before.

We really only ate in the hotels & at stalls along the road. Fresh pineapple - better than I had ever tasted!Red bananas were very sweet & tasty too.
