The Golden Grill stands on Bentota river and has a really good setting, Our Sri lankan friends recommended this place, over looking a lagoon that flows into Bentota River, with soft lights and low music, the setting is truly romantic. Clean tables, good english speaking waiters, and friendly atomsphere.
We came back here 3 times, and had really good food every time. We went on Poya day, so chocolate milkshakes all round. We had 2 each, they really were that good.
Favorite Dish: We had sizzling steak, whick the waiters set on fire with brandy at the table, wonderful dish, best steak in Sri lanka, our friends had Tuna steaks, and a mixed grill that would shame any good grill house in England. The fish was caught that day, and the icecreams were lip smacking great.

We were only in our hotel on a Bed & Breakfast basis, We were out & about everyday, & ooccassionally we ate in the Hotel Restaurant in the evening.
Most evenings though we walked about a mile south of our hotel to this Small Beach cafe & had cheese on toast for tea, watching the sun go down.
Favorite Dish: Cheese on Toast!! (~_~)

The seafod at the Sunflower Restaurant on the beach ( just at Daddys Corner) is delicious. Good idea to pop in in the morning and tell them what you want for dinner and they will go and get it fresh and have it ready when you arrive.
Favorite Dish: Lobster- fresh from the ocean and absolutely delicious.

This restaurant is located on Beruwala beach, In 2003 we eat here and had a feast, 2 Main meals, plus salad, with beers, cost ?7.00, No longer in business, The owner cannot re-open due to 100mtr buffer zone, amazing when you consider how quickly hotels were re-built................................................
