If you need a tour guide/driver for your excursions by van or tuk tuk , I can recommend a guy called Sena.
You can meet him at his "offfice" on the beach between Bentota Beach Hotel and Hotel Ceysands, or you can contact him by mail or phone.

Get in a Tuk Tuk for all local travel, its cheap, and a great way to see local Sri lanka at its best. Taxis are a little more pricey, but have a/c, but then you cannot smell what you see. We found this, the best way to get about, Stay away from the trains, We were going to go to galle by train, but the foul smell of urine, put us off....

We went around Beruwala in A Tuk Tuk from . Very Cheap, it is quite a slow way to travel so Ideal for taking photos along the way
We went all the way to Galle in the Tuk Tuk, Which was an experience, especially when a bus went in to the side of us.
