A perfect place to eat, drink and relax as you look out over the Indian Ocean. Don't expect anything too fancy. This is really just a wooden platform in the trees. We had to wait about an hour for our meal (although this certainly isn't a problem with the view we had!). I think the young waiter had to go and buy the food once we had ordered it!

Hibiscus Beach Hotel, Kalutara
Most nights at the hotel there was some sort of entertainment, including this night with traditional Sri Lankan dancers. The costumes, dancing and music all made a great night of cultural entertainment.

Stopped here on the way down from Colombo airport to Koggala. Kalutara is situated halfway down the west coast. Had a beer and watched the superb sunset on the beach.
LAST TIME I VISITED THIS AREA WAS 8 MONTHS AFTER THE TSUNAMI, WITH PEOPLE FROM MY CHURCH IN COLOMBO WHO WERE HELPING REBUILD.
