One ofthe best Restaurents along the beach road. Just 03 minutes walk from camolet Beach Hotel.
The Sri Lankan Rice & curry was excellent which lead me to write a comment. the prices are also reasonable just Rs. 600 (Three British Pounds). The curries are out of the world.
Also my friend ordered a sea food platter which was very fresh and worth the money.
Favorite Dish: Rice & curry / Sweet & Sour Prawns

knowing the resaturant since 2007,the food used to be one of the best in negombo.my last visit this year feb.2011 dissapointed me alot.the prices hijacked by more than 30% within 6month,the portions half the size than usually served.additionally the bill will be charged with 10% service charges.the staff were friendly but very slow and not attended to the guests.the owner is a friendly old lady who comes to the guests table for small talks and joking, but don't get blended,it is her business strategy and only show..the prices are non realistic for sri lanka n not value for money.
my best experience was the browns beach hotel with the daily diner bufett, the food is excellent and u got a wide choice of western n local dishe and live music with great ambience, the staff was the best i ve ever experienced in sri lanka.

Restaurant looked upscale. Since we were a group of 20, we first asked if the restaurant can handle a group our size. Manager told us "no problem" and invited us in. Menu was random with various soups, sandwiches, curries, and seafood. 30 minutes after ordering we had not received any of our food. Since we had a large group, we decided to stay. Only after an hour, food started to arrive at our tables. We were the only diners there and maybe few other groups outside in the terrace and they claimed they were backed up. The last dish arrived at our tables after 2 HOURS!! Most of the items we ordered were simple things like sandwiches, soup, and fries, most of which were poor quality and/or cold. When we complained as we settled the bill, the manager said "You'll never come here again." When I refused to pay the 10% "service charge", manager began to dial the police. I guess it was our fault for actually waiting the 2 hours, but this was by far the worst restaurant experience ever. Don't be fooled by the chic decor. Costing about $15 per person, this place basically robs you with the poor excuse for food. The lack of responsibility by the manager was the icing on the cake. After working hard on our Habitat for Humanity trip, this was supposed to be our one nice meal of the trip which ended up being our worst experience of the trip. Nothing would make me happier than to see this place go out of business. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!
Favorite Dish: Every dish was horrible. i.e. Cold fried rice, Tom Yam soup saltier than the Dead Sea, "mixed" salad with one piece of lettuce and tomatom, fruit shakes that were 80% water...only thing passable were some of the fried seafood...

Pleasant and spacious, overlooking a quiet road.
Favorite Dish: The fried crumbed seer fish (a white fish, also called King fish), with mixed vegetables in an onion sauce, was excellent. The crab curry was somewhat disappointing because the crabs were small with not much flesh.

It's the combination between friendly staff and great food that kept us coming back each time. Dutch tourists are especially attracted to the place, since 'Ammehula' is Dutch slang for 'go to hell' or 'forget it!'.
Favorite Dish: They serve excellent dishes and seem to enjoy a good reputation at the moment. Nothing can beat the delicious curry dishes!
