The uninhabited Shianjiau...

by AndreasK

The uninhabited Shianjiau Island is located to the south of Jibei. Except for a small eroded rock platform in the east, it consists mainly of sand. From a distance, the island looks like a white-sand mirage floating in the sea. Because of the tropical fish and corals, Shianjiau is ideal for snorkelers. The island is located between mainland China and Taiwan (it's not on the map below).

If you have been to Toroko Gorge National Park, take a trip to Sun Moon Lake in the Centre of Taiwan. Swimming is not allowed in the lake but it's nice to scooter around it.From Taipei take a bus to Puli and rent a scooter there. You can take a bus to Sun Moon Lake from Puli as well but there are no scooter rental shops there.

Spring Scream. It's an annual 3 day non-stop music festival on the beach in Kenting on the southern tip of Taiwan. It takes place every April. The main event is mostly rock/punk/metal, but there is also a concurrent 3 day rave nearby the main stage that features electronica.

Miniatures Museum of Taiwan ...

by Burtty

Miniatures Museum of Taiwan With a collection of over 200 pieces, the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan is Asia's largest and the world's second largest museum of miniature art. This collection of dollhouses, rooms, sample furniture, dolls and toys, antiques as well as the newly crafted miniatures made by talented artisans serves as a visual documented piece of history. A visitor not only sees the furniture and accessories of today but those enjoyed by our ancestors of yesterday. The museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday and it is closed on Monday. The museum is located at the Chien Kuo North Road and across the street from the Chung Shan Girl High School. The museum is at the basement of the building. Philips (Taiwan) Corp. has some offices at the rest part of this building.

What you will miss? The real country, the real people. Exept you got the chance to work there for a while, and even then?Try to learn at least some basics of Mandarin! it is the most logic and easy language on the world (but a hell to learn anyway!): My opinion!
