Hot Pot In the Street: Map for Glutton- in the Night Market 2

by THLIN

Cool, I can't believe this. For the very first time I see people eating hot pot in the street. Cool, and it's very cheap. It only cost you NT100. (US1=NT33) Basically, it contains everthing that you can find in a restaurant. Sadly, I never find one in a Taipeian night market. If you ever see one in my city, please inform me. I will rush there. This photo and the price is from Tainan WuSheng night market. As usual, the price is cheaper outside Taipei.

BBQ: Map for Glutton- in the Night Market 2

by THLIN

In almost every night market, you can find a Taiwanese-Satay stand. It's always to delicious. The thing that I love most is "Phoenix Tail." Well, I am not gonna tell you what that exactly is, because so many people think it's ... so that they lose a chance to taste something really appealing. Also, here you can find some standardised product like chicken wings, chicken leg, Taiwanese Tempura. Each item prices from NT20 to NT 50. (US1=NT33)Just try once and you are gonna love it.

In almost all of our local night markets, you can easily find a "Steak House." Although it's REALLY not western. In you plat, you can see a thick meat with some noodle and always an egg, if you are lucky enough, you would find some snap bean. Visitors can chose from chicken, pork, beaf and sometimes ribs. Generally, tea and soup is served in an all-you-can-eat type.Price fluctuate also from place to place. In Taipei, it might cost you NT130~NT200. But in Tainan, it costs only NT100~NT150. (US1=NT33.5) I really enjoyed my food when I was in Tainan recently.

There are loads of nice...

by kiely

There are loads of nice restaurants in Taiwan . --- oh , Geez . Only thinking is making me starving again . I live in Tien-mu , Taipei, which is one of the loveliest area where you can find good food , good shops , good blahblahblah ... anyway , love where I'm living now :)----- Too many good restaurants , it's just too hard to make the decision .. Also , it depends on what kinda food you are into . -- ( the other good thing about Taiwan is we got so many different type of food :) Extremely Yummy !! There are too many of them , it's just too hard to name all of them . think that would take me more than a week time to do so . Just go to the nightmarkets , you will see which ones are good .....

Airport Restaurants: Local food

by kyoub

We had several meals at the airport. They were much better than you get at most airports. It was somewhat reassuring that all the employees wore gloves and masks. We had dishes with tofu and that is about all I remember about them.Eva furnished our meals also so we didn't have to pay.

Sweet, Chilled, and Mushy Tofu!

by DirtyRudy

Dou-hua is one of my favorite deserts in Taiwan. It's basically chilled tofu in some sweet syrup.I know, I know... it sounds kinda freaky, but it's delicious. I usually have mine with the sweet beans (red beans) and tapioca. I can't get enough of this stuff.Look for it in night markets, or ask for it in restaurants. It's a common dessert that can be obtained cheaply anywhere in Taiwan.

Stinky Tofu

by Arm-Chair-Hero

There are many different places to eat here...you will find the Taiwanese live for food...it is there biggest hobby....quite amazing when you consider most of the people have very slender figures. You can find a wide variety of foods at very reasonable prices. The dish featured is "stinky tofu" I will let you use your imagination as to why it has this name.Normal tofu I dont like, but the featured tofu I do like....from what I can gather this is quite strange and opposite to most peoples tastes. The restaurant where this photo was taken is situated on the east coast...I will find out name of location later ; ) like most places to eat, the seating is outside on the street....it is basic but does the job.....it is well known amongst Taiwan`s people and has a good reputation for quality of this particular dish. If you visit you will smell the food at least 200 yards away....this might put...
