The best taste you can find it here!

by sakurita

More than pay quite a lot, it is just better to go straight to the night markets to have dinner, all sorts of delicious food is served there, for just some pennies. Even locals prefer to go and get the food there than cook at home. Duck, and dim sum are highly recommended. There is no danger on the hygiene subject, just make sure what you take is cooked not raw.

Don't Eat the Dogs...

The hot dogs that is... Whatever you do in Taiwan, do not eat the hot dogs at 7-11. . Although they may look appetizing after months/years of rice/noodles, they are in fact one of the foulest tasting things on this earth, with a texture consistent with horsehide...Bon Apetit...

No faveroute, but liked almost every thing I had been to. Try the Pecking Duck.Dont miss the soup made with some sea creatures.(I dont remember the name)One more dish...Looks white and is made of Pigs organs and smells very bad. I was told the locals like it very much but I didnt like it. Any way you can give it a try. Close your nose before you eat this, other wise you might spoil your entire meal. (as usual I ont remember the dish name)

As with all travel experiences, just go out there and try it! I found a lot of great places. Just one word of warning: you may find that breakfast is not quite to your taste. After day 4 on the road eating salty shaved beef, some hard chunks of rice in a clear soup, some pickled turnip things and a small dish of peanuts, I was so happy to find an American school tour group staying at the same place I was. They graciously gave me a few slices of bread to keep me going. ;)
