Zao-Ling in my opinion is one of the most interesting hiking ways in Taiwan. This is not only for the nature, but also for the history.

The land was aboriginal living area. To broaden the East-Taiwan the Ching Dynasty, China devleoped Zao-Ling to conntect Taipei and I-Land. On the way you see streamlet, mountains, butterflies, rice water farm, histortish tablets built in the 18 century, turtle islet, old hotel ruin etc. Unforgetful & beautiful scene carved on my mind.

The way is totally 7 KM long and 4 hours.

Equipment: Water, food for energy, hat, a pair of good shoes, camera, rain-coat, a coat for winter etc.
