This is where you can find those branded stuff and delicious foods. The price is acceptable depends on what type of good's quality you seeking for. My suggestion is to look around a few stall before you get purchase. You may find different prices for the same item. You may also get discount like what i did. See how well you do a bargain......I think most people can do...right?:)
Being a singer?Karaoke Louge and Pubs are all availables.
Watch out for the pets! Bringing along with pets is a very comment things happen over here. (So do bring your pet but not your kids.....yo!Joking....)
The shop is about to open from 11am....most of them may only open at 2 or 3pm. There are almost no shop open early in the morning. Don't get yourself there before 11am. Hopefully you may found a coffee shop.
Dress Code: Just a normall dressing will do.

A visit to Snake Alley in the evening is interesting. The area has become a popular night market. There are shopping stalls and also many restaurants, some still serving snake, turtle and other gourmet dishes, but don't worry - 'normal' Asian food prevails.
Beware, the fellas, entertaining you with the snakes, do not like you to take photos and will get pretty upset if you do - but try it anyway.
A carnival-like atmosphere, very colourful. You can do this on your own or as part of a night tour.

If all else fails you could go and see a movie. The Warner Village cinemas were one of the first big multiplexes. This cinema has 18 theatres spanning across two buildings which also incorporates restaurants.
Across the road is the Mitsukoshi Department Store and 5 mins up the road is the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

The Combat Zone sits comfortably in several small streets and alleys along Linsin North Road. It is an area of many seedy bars and hangouts, many with large quantities of women just waiting for that "perfect" man (in this case, perfect means a man with lots of money!). However, interspersed in the Zone are several good bars and pubs such as Patina. Just be careful in this area, especially if a lady asks you to buy her a drink!

Brown Sugar is the most known Jazz bar/cafe in Taipei. You can go for a drink or for food as well with live music in the evening. The band seems to be residante in this club but I did see occasionaly new bands.
The music is good but the public does seem more interested in what they have in their plate than the live show.
It is quite noisy with the catering in the background but it is still a rathe good night out - that is if you like Jazz music.
Dress Code: They have bouncers but it is very rare to be refused in a place in Taipei - especialy if you look Western.
I do not think there is a dress code but I would not consider going to this place in shorts. if you do and get bounced you can always go downstrairs to Roxy 99 (they owner) where beer is poored continuously and the atmesphere less strick.

very nice and relaxing atmosphere. a very trendy place with soothing music to enjoy other people's company...only food i had there was the spaghetti and chicken salad. both were excellent. i didn't expect a "bar" (or so called place that looks like a bar i guess) to have such good cuisine...but it was great!!! drinks were nice and plentiful as well. the place is well furnished and changes from room to room. cozy spot of hang out with friends to chit chat and pass the time...

Sofa is the place to go- at least once. I was there practically once a week when I first arrived. Good ambience and funky decor---> retro couches and lighting fixtures. The artwork is changed once in a while too. The food (get the bacon + cream pasta or smoked chicken salad) is great and there are a lot of choices of drinks too, ranging from alcoholic to non-alcoholic beverages. There is a funky mix of crowds that go to sofa and the spot stays open till late.. best of all there's a little Dj booth where there's an eclectic/indie/loungey section of CDs for sale!!! I love getting new tunes from there (though they might be a little more pricey).
Overall- can't go wrong at sofa!
Dress Code: No dress code at all.
