by yukisanto This is a wholesaler area of 80% women's fashion clothing and 20% guys' clothes. Walk here from Houshanpi mrt station (10min), but don't come here on Mon as that's the day when wholesalers sell to storesowners only. Although prices here are on average cheaper than say Ximending, the fashion at Ximending is slightly different and better quality? I don't know, but that's my experience. I ended up buying alot more unique stuff from Ximending than Wufenpu. But it's really a place for young adults and teens to buy trendy cheap cfashion clothes. Prices range from NT 200 to NT800. by THLIN The story began with a poor old granny who can hardly sold her soy-sause-marinated-egg. Therefore, she kept boilt her eggs, until one day her products was as hard as stone. However, it attracted a lot of gluttens, and the fame and the legend and the tourism began. There are many places selling "Iron Egg" in Danshui. A-Po is one of the most famous and the best shops there. Whenever I go Danshui, I buy some of their products home. By the way, there is nothing special with this shop, but the munchies they produce.
Iron Egg is a preserved egg. It's boiled by speical sause and then dry up; the same process repeat three times, and your egg is as hard as a stone. It's a little bit salty but delicious, a little bit hard but chewy. I think you would like it. What's more, it's like trademark of Danshui. Yu-Su is another trademark of Danshui. It's like dried tempura really savoury; I don't like it due to high cholstero and tallow that makes mey fingers oily.
A package of Iron Egg is NT100; a package of Yu-Su is NT50. Exchange rate is about US1=NT31~33 Leave a Comment Theme: Food and DrinkDirections: At a corner; right opposite to Red Castle Cafe.

Once the sun goes down, residents and tourists throng to the area squeezing amongst street vendors and food stalls. The night market are divided into 2 sections. Specialties of the Shihlin Night Market pancake ( red bean wrapped into a pancake), smelly tau Foo, teppanyaki, oyster omelettes and much more.

The street outside Guanghua Mall by lhe Guanghua Mall and the surrounding area would be an interesting place to visit if you are a technie. In this area there are numerous stores selling computer systems, peripherals, and electronics (such as MP3 players). The prices are generally better than other places in Taipei and since there are so many stores to choose from, you can always find one that offers a better price. Even you don't want to buy anything, it is still quite cool to check out all the latest technology products, especially those from top Taiwanese brands, such as Asus, Acer, BenQ etc. Leave a Comment Theme: Computers and ElectronicsDirections: near ZhongXiao XinShen MRT station.

Food court of Shilin Market by ngcsc If there is an award, Shilin Night Market might be all-time top three for the travellers to Taipei. One of my friends when 12 night with his 14 nights stay in Taipei.... sound crazy but it is real. Hanging around in Shilin Night Market is a bit different nowadays. The new indoor market right beside Jian Tan MRT station is majory for those food stalls and the old Shilin night market still remain and for various products. Cheap product, discounted product and expensive product too... especially fruit. If you intend to buy food, don't buy in Shilin Market, it is for tourist... go to the supermarket opposite City Jungle Mall, they sell cheap.
Clothes, Bags, Shoes, DVDs, and of course food. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Shilin, TaipeiDirections: Jian Tan MRT station (not Shilin Station)

Shin Kong Mitsukoshi by dixonchan There's elevator girls operating the lifts for you. I kinda feel sorry for them because their jobs are quite mechanical and boring. Each storey has its theme, so take your time to browse if you can afford it.
Anything you can think of!

Night fruit market by Ewingjr98 Night markets located throughout Taipei are safe, brightly lit, and busy affairs selling a wide range of items from local religious symbols to shoes and clothes. These markets usually have small restaurants and street vendors intermingled with the shops. All-in-all a very enjoyable experience. Leave a Comment Theme: Local Craft
