Directly north of Taipei is Yangmingshan National Park, where visitors can find waterfalls, volcanic craters, lakes, steaming hot springs, and in the springtime, cherry and azalea blossoms. Well-maintained walkways and trails lead to the park's main scenic spots, which offer picnic and recreation areas. Leave a Comment

For tourists who enjoy shopping and munching on savory Taiwanese snacks, night markets are a good choice. Markets offer fun, shopping, and a lot of local color, and generally sell a variety of products, casual clothes, fruit, snacks, and novelty items. Night markets with the best bargains in food, fashions, and curios in the Taipei area include the Shihlin night market, north of the Grand Hotel; the Kungkuan night market, near National Taiwan University; the Shihta night market, on Shih Ta Road off Hoping East Road; Hua Hsi Street night market, also known as Snake Alley; Tung Hua Street night market, near the World Trade Center; Jao Ho Street night market, in the Sungshan district; and Chingkuang market, off Chung Shan North Road. Taipei 101 by dennisKL The Taipei 101 Financial Building being open to public on 2004. This is a new landmark of Taipei situated in the center of Taipei City. Quite a nice building architecture that stand more than 450m from sea level and being the highest building in the world from now. Leave a Comment Directions: Take the Exit 2 from the Taipei Cityhall Station and walk to your left. Is actaully a bus station there. But is only about 10minutes walking distance to the building. Far?

Living in the city is kinda cool coz you can always get around easier and there are more shops around. But I think most people wouldn't mind a little trip away from the centre. Youn-Ming Mt. is one of the great spot to visit. It's not too far away from the city so you can get there easily. It was a nice day when we went up there with a couple of our friends. It still looked a bit foggy. But imagine that was the first day we saw the sun after three weeks of bad weather. We didn't make it to the top cause I was too lazy to walk longer. Leave a Comment Directions: Take MRT from Taipei Main to Shih-Lin then take bus Red 2 outside the station. It will take u all the way up to the nice spots.

If you are interested in gardening you definitely don't wanna miss this place. You can find all kinds of flowers, plants and garden supplies. For people who like Orchids you can even get one pot for only $50NT. We went there recently coz we are into the herbs lately. Found some nice Rosemary, Peppermint, Sweet Basil, Parsley, Sage, Thyme, and Lemon Balm seeds. =) Leave a Comment Address: Jian-Gwa S. RdDirections: In the intersection of Jian-Gwa S Rd and Zen-I Rd.

by THLIN Jio Fen if dierect tanslation to Chinese means nine portions. Long ago, there were only nine families lived there. With the discovery of gold, it had become a tiny properous town, some called it little Shanghai. It's close to Gin Gua Shi but the minery belonged to different men. Now this town is a tourism sopt. During holidays, it is veery crowded. You may also find some old atomosphere here. Here, you must not forget to take taro ball.( Yu-Yuan ) which is my favorite, and Cai-A-Guei. Spend a night here and talk to the locals, I believe they know a lot about history and stories, what's more, they are really friendly and willing to talk to their visitors. Leave a Comment

Taiwan's largest Ferris wheel. It was constructed on reclaimed land along the Keelung River. Located on the Miramar's 5th floor, the 100m by 70m, 48 by 6-persons compartment Ferris wheel has already been ridden by 50,000 people. Level 1 to 5 is all about shopping. Not too different from our malls. However, its uniqueness is the huge ferris wheel located on the top floor and there is a merry-go-around next to it. The wheel takes 17 minutes to revolve & offers stunning vistas of Taipei City. It costs NT$150 on weekdays & NT$200 on weekends & is open from 11am until midnight. It was built to the same specifications & designed by the same manufacturers as the whopping 106m by 75m Ferris wheel at the Hep 5 Shopping Mall in Osaka, Japan, the wheel has an 80 tilt factor & can reportedly withstand an earthquake measuring 8 on the Richter scale. The wheel is not, however, as is claimed by its proprietors, Asia's 2nd-largest Ferris wheel. It is, in fact, Asia's 3rd- largest, as the city of Changsha in China's Hunan Province boasts the largest, which measures 120m by 99m & has 60 compartments. The CKS Main Building by dennisKL A historical place that worth of visit. On April, 1975, the entire nation mourned the passing of President Chiang Kai-shek. In June, in response to suggestions from all sectors, the funeral committee members decided to build the CKS Memorial Hall in Taipei, in order to commemorate the memory of our great leader. Leave a Comment Directions: Is only a 5minutes walk form the CKS Station.

The underground theme park is open since November 2005. There we imitate the enviroment of Taiwan in the 60's: old houses, traditional food, old music and servers all dressed in old style. There are grocery store, school class room, Chinese herb house, cinema, cafe, fashion shop, drug store, post office, photography shop and restaurants etc. We are able to enter every house for observing and checking everything in detail like adventure. Food served in Taiwanese, Japanese and Cantonese restaurants is delicious as well. The washing room is designed specially in old style and equipped with the most advanced devices. I love the old atmosphere there. Everytime I go there, I feel like going to the past... It's really a wonderful place for old people to recall their childhood, for youth to learn about the old times and for foreigners to know better history of Taiwan. P.S. The ticket (NTD 120) gives every visitor inside free consumption (NTD 120). How a bonus! by THLIN It's the highest building in the world at the moment. This building has 101 floors, and it's how it derive its name from...Taipei 101. At the moment, visitors are not allowed to visit on the top floor but I believe one day it'd be okay to view Taipei from this artificial beauty. Also there is a vareity of choice for dining in the buliding. From the East to the West, also there is one of the best buffets in the city. Inside, there are many world famous shops, such as Prada, Fendi and so on. For teenagers, there are also young brand name such as Tommy Hilfiger Leave a Comment
