Taiwan's largest Ferris wheel. It was constructed on reclaimed land along the Keelung River. Located on the Miramar's 5th floor, the 100m by 70m, 48 by 6-persons compartment Ferris wheel has already been ridden by 50,000 people. Level 1 to 5 is all about shopping. Not too different from our malls.
However, its uniqueness is the huge ferris wheel located on the top floor and there is a merry-go-around next to it. The wheel takes 17 minutes to revolve & offers stunning vistas of Taipei City. It costs NT$150 on weekdays & NT$200 on weekends & is open from 11am until midnight.
It was built to the same specifications & designed by the same manufacturers as the whopping 106m by 75m Ferris wheel at the Hep 5 Shopping Mall in Osaka, Japan, the wheel has an 80 tilt factor & can reportedly withstand an earthquake measuring 8 on the Richter scale.
The wheel is not, however, as is claimed by its proprietors, Asia's 2nd-largest Ferris wheel. It is, in fact, Asia's 3rd- largest, as the city of Changsha in China's Hunan Province boasts the largest, which measures 120m by 99m & has 60 compartments.

Address: Miramar Entertainment Centre 5th floor
Now the Taipei people have a new place to spend their money! Just opened at the end of last year, the Miramar Mall is the latest attraction in Taipei. This is actually an entertainment complex, which has shopping center, IMAX theater and of course the biggest attraction there, the ferris wheel. The ferris wheel has a height over 100 meters and it is the second largest in Asia. The best time to visit is at night when the lights are up. Not only you can see the beautiful Taipei night view up the ferris wheel, but also the amazing lighting show.
