    Danshui Fishermans Wharf

Located at the mouth of the Danshui River is Fisherman's Wharf. Completed in 2003, Fisherman's Wharf is a popular recreation area with riverfront shops, eateries and cafes. There is a marina where you can take a boat cruise on the Danshui River, passing by historical monuments along the way. A white suspension bridge, the Lovers Bridge, sets a romantic backdrop for a pleasant stroll in the late afternoon.

    Danshui Sunset

    by chewy3326 Written Aug 17, 2006

To the people of Taiwan, Danshui is synonymous with sunset. Although Danshui sunsets aren't particularly impressive, they are worth seeing. The most popular place to view a sunset on the Strait of Taiwan is at Fisherman's Wharf; in midsummer, the sun will set at 19:00, while in winter, it may set as early as 16:00. Check the sunset time before you come, and get here at least 20 minutes before the sunset.

Danshui Fisherman's Wharf (Danshui Rurenmatou) (Tamshui Fisherman's Wharf) is clearly a tourist trap, but still worth visiting if you would like to see a Danshui sunset. The wharf is filled with restaurants and bars; at the end of the wharf is a place to watch the sunset. There is also a white Lover's Bridge at the wharf; it is rather new and also rather tacky (but whatever, this is Taiwan). Parking here (like parking everywhere else) is for a fee. It is possible to go on boat rides from the wharf.

Fisherman's Wharf is a multi-purpose leisure fishing port. There are floating piers and a spacious park, with a bridge in the shape of a boat spanning across the harbour and a wooden path stretching over 300 meters at the waterfront.

It is relaxing to lean against the fence enjoying the breeze and sights at the Danshuei River mouth.

Overall this place is a lover paradise. best place to watch the view of the sunset.

Fisherman's Wharf is a multi-purpose leisure fishing port developed by the Taipei County Government. There are magnificent floating piers and a spacious park, with a bridge in the shape of a boat spanning across the harbor and a wooden path stretching over 300 meters at the waterfront. It is relaxing to lean against the fence enjoying the breeze and sights at the Danshuei River mouth. In the evening, this is the best place to watch the view of the sunset.

    Danshui's Sunset

by lhe Written Dec 18, 2004

Danshui's sunset is supposedly very famous in Taiwan. Although I don't know how is it different from sunset at other places, it is very beautiful indeed, if you happen to go visit it on a really nice day. You can either watch the sunset at the Fisherman's Wharf, or at the ferry pier near the MRT station.

The bridge that across the wharf is more beautiful at night as it is lightened up after sunset. I think the light would change color but I am not sure how often they do that. I have not stayed there long enough to see it changing color. The bridge is named the Valentine's Bridge by the president on the day the bridge is finished, which is the Valentine's day 2003.

This is the most prominent structure at Fisherman Wharf.

Everyone will take pics with this as the background.

Oh, by the way, Fisherman Wharf is also the filming site of the show Meteor Garden.(The show that made F4 famous)

If you were to catch sunset in Taipei, make your way down to Fisherman Wharf.

It's a popular place to catch beautiful sunset.

I was there at 4:30pm to witness it, but was left disappointed. The sky was cloudy and overcast. :(

    The picture says it all.

Fisherman's Wharf is famous for it's superb sunset and romantic Lover's Bridge. A great place to take photos.

Unfortunately, when I was there, the sky was dull and slightly drizzling. So, please choose a sunny day to go there.

This place is also the filming location for several scenes in the Taiwanese Drama Meteor Garden. (The show that made F4 famous).
