The Grand Hotel (Yuanshan Hotel) (Yuanshan Fandian) (Yuan Mountain Hotel) (員山飯店) is one of Taipei's most visible landmarks; as I did not stay here, I'm putting it under Things to do instead of Hotels. This giant building is one of the largest in the world built with Chinese architecture. It is visible from many parts of Taipei, including from the top of Taipei 101. If you visit the Grand Hotel, you get a good view of the city of Taipei, and Taipei 101 in the distance, though the view is often smogged up.

The first photo was taken at the main entrance of the hotel. Everything or most predominent colour at the Grand Hotel is "RED" which is outstanding! This is the Grand Hotel of Taipei. It was quite a treat, even just for two luxurious nights. It is absolutely so relaxing and elegant.

The next photo is the National Museum of History. This National Museum is right next to the Botanical Gardens. This museum is so beautiful building which has hundreds if not thousands of China’s many treasurers.

The third photo is the Yangmingshan National Park. This Park called Yangmingshan National Park . Years ago they said it was called Caoshan (Grass Mountain in Mandarin), which they refered to the tall silvergrass that covers the highest slopes. Chiang Kai-shek renamed it Mount Yangming after his favorite Ming philosopher Wang Yang-ming (B.C 1472-1529).

... became a landmark of the city of Taipei was built by Soong Mei-Ling, the wife of Chiang Kai-sheck. (Also name of the Taipei airport)I have never been inside the hotel because for a long time it was restricted to normal people. Although the hotel structure was build like a normal multistory building around 1970 only the fassade and the roof were arranged like a palace of the Ching dynasty. I understand that the roof burned down sometime end of the 1990ies. I have never been there since late 1993
