Ximending Pedestrian Lane is Taipei's go-to place for new fashion and night-time entertianment. Youths go here to buy the latest fashion, and see the latest movies. Shopping, sit-down dining and streetfoods, too much and too often advertising and promotions, weekend autograph signing. Artist poster and collectibles, anything and everything you need and don't need are being sold here. It's also called "shimen walker."
Oh and be careful when police roam the streets. many of the food vendors are considered illegally selling their food (the ones in wheels) so, when they start running, step aside... and don't get caught by the sudden rush of hot metals and cooked/uncooked food.

Just walking around XiMenDing is a great activity in itself! There are many shops to browse, and lots of people to watch. It's also very interesting how XiMenDing seems to have 'themed' streets. There's a street full of cinemas, a street full of costume shops and such. Prices in XiMenDing were mostly higher than that in the night markets, but one can still find great buys if one looks hard enough. On Saturdays, throngs of screaming fans descend upon XiMenDing to attend autograph sessions of their favourite popstars. Very rowdy, but it was great fun getting caught up in the action!
