Gold Ecological Park is Jinguashi’s showcase, it contains various buildings with exhibits from the gold mining period during the Japanese occupation. It was also served as POW camp during WWII. The park itself is free, but you do need tickets for some museums and exhibits. See transportation tip for how to get here from Keelung.

Geology Park

Chin Gua Shi Geology park was an open mineral diggings called Bain Shan mines where there were the abundant ores of copper, gold and the others. Now that the mines were depleted and abandoned, it was built as the geology park shown to the public.

There is the parking lot on route 102 on the way from Chiu Feng to Shuang Shi. It is about 5 minutes drive from Chiu Feng. The park is 600 meters away from the parking lot through the trails.

After passing the geology park, you can go further to the golden shine.

Route 102

Driving along the route 102 from Shuang Shi to Chiu Fen is another nice experience. The road cuts through the beautiful mountain. On the boarder of Shuang Shi and Ruey Feng, you will reach an observation plaza and you will have a view of all the mountains all around you.

Chin Gua Shi and the sea viewing from Geo Park

It is a wonderful experience to drive on the highway from Chiu Feng to Chin Gua Shi. You will see many beautiful scenes on the way. Keep driving to the coast, you will see the abandaned copper mill standing on the hill. The sea turns yellow there because of the pollution of the copper.
