There's a sort of hall/chamber at the entrance of the monastery where you can view giant statues of buddhas. What's annoying is that there's a collection slot under every single statue. Still, it's very grand and lavish.

This lavishly built monastery doesn't really reflect the teachings of Buddhism; besides being immensely large, it's apparent that the monastery has indulged thousands of dollars to create gardens and giant halls (why not help victims of natural disasters instead?) It's possible to wander around the monastery. There are a few shops in the monastery selling statues of various buddhas, as well as great hall.

Puli is located right at the center of Taiwan. It is the town linking to many nearby tourist spots. Thus it is very busy at the weekend or holidays but it is generally a peaceful town at the weekday.
