Central Asian and the best yoghurt on earth
If you have travelled in one of the Central Asia countries already, you will be familiar with most of the dishes and food you’ll get along your way in Tajikistan and the Pamirs. There is an abundance of juicy watermelons, cherries, apricots and other fruit to select from. For lunch and dinner there is shashlyk, laghman soup (a rich soup with noodles, meat and vegetables), plov, samsa, manty. Usually, salad is brought as a side dish, mostly cucumbers, tomatos and onions. All is served with very much delicious nan bread – I even found a video on youtube which shows how this bread is made (oh, I get homesick and hungry now….)For those of you who like porridge – good news, this seems to be a very popular dish for breakfast (for those of you who don’t like it – well, but you won’t starve, as nan bread will feed you :-) .
