If you like dairy products, you and your stomach will be in heaven when travelling through the Pamirs !The eastern part of the Pamirs, the one, where you will mostly encounter plateaulike grassy landscapes in the valleys between the high peaks, is where Kyrgyz nomads are herding their livestock, mostly yaks and sheep. Usually, it’s some families which live in several yurts (like the one in my intro page) and all together they are taking care of their animals. The animals dominate their life, and the products, they make from yak, cow and sheep, are more than delicious.I had the honor of staying in a yurt with a nomad family, and it was one of my best “food experiences” (what a stupid word) I ever had. Take in account that I had quite a nice case of Montezuma some days or weeks before (maybe from some yoghurt drink in Bukhara), and you can imagine that I was not much fond of eating...
