Floating Market in Amphawa starts in the late afternoon. It is due to the water level in the canal only rises in the afternoon. Don't come too early or your will miss it. (Sounds kinda strange, doesn't it?)

Order your food from a boat vendor, and then enjoy the meal on one of the benches facing the canal. It is a fun thing to do. And while you are enjoying your food, most likely you would be the subject of visitors who take photo from one of the boats. :)

The main attraction of Amphawa is the old shops or houses. When I walked in front of the houses, I felt like I suddenly returned to the old days where life was simpler and less hectic. It was surprising to me that people still live in these houses and some even started to do some small business. Walking by the houses, I couldn't help to look into people's houses with curiosity as if I was in a live museum. I knew it was intrusive and rude to the residents, but I couldn't help myself.

This is a grocery shop. I wondered how long has it been in business. In Kuala Lumpur or any big cities, you can't see this type of old fashioned business anymore. To me, it is very nostalgic.
