grab a Bite! by machomikemd most tours to Ayuthaya includes a buffet thai lunch and a boat ride back to Bangkok. The Sumptous lunch is very good and is very popular! it is included in the 1600 Baht price for the ayuthaya tour so enjoy various goodies like tom yung gang, thai fried rice, green chicken curry, spring rolls, catfish salad, etc.
very sumptious and filling!

It's best to sit for a while and be away of the group to freshen' up! Leave a Comment

Buddha sitting by yen_2 It would be in Wat Chaiwatthanaram, as its said as the most imposing and most popular destination in around the Ayuthaya City. A climb in the main Khmer type phrang would be good! Don't ask me why I did not climb then..;-)
I would rather rocommend you to really take the steep steps?hehe..Well, most of the tourist there climb even kids tried it! Leave a Comment

Thai life.. by yen_2 The tour guide told us that most of the Thai people love to live beside the river. And most of the land are very expensive because of the demand that most people love to stay there. If the river will go high tide most of those people that can't afford to put a bricks or a cement to prevent the tide will have their things damage. That's the most and common things that happened in the families living near the river. It's best to cruise along the river when you're in the country to experience the life most Thai people have!
Most of the thai people living the river will give you a wave, and shouting "Sawasdee"! Isn't it great? Leave a Comment

Buddha beside the river. by yen_2 You can see alot of surprises along the river. I thought buddhas' are only put up in the Wat areas but I saw one, beside the river. Maybe because there is also a Wat in the other side. You can see well furnished houses and the guide told us that they have wow houses in bricks because they were corrupt,haha..excuse to thai people..I don't mean a thing in here!
The Wats are everywhere, you can see many of them even in the side of the river. Leave a Comment

Taking a break by herzog63 It can get quite hot in the afternoon sun!! You will probably want to put a small bottle of water in a day pack if you're gonna be walking around. We always had water in my day pack. I didn't pack to much though because a couple times that I packed to much it didn't get drank and it just got HOT. There are many small shops around selling bottled water and soft drinks. Leave a Comment

by norain Wat Na Phramen is the only temple that was not completely destroyed during the 1767 invasion and destruction of Ayutthaya. Burmese used the temple as their headquarter. Still in use today, it has retained its original, magnificent splendor since its construction in 1503. Leave a Comment

We went to see only three temples but did some driving around; we saw Wat Mahathat which is probably the most popular, Wat Naphrameru which has two beautiful Buddha statues. and the huge reclining Buddha at Wat Lokayasutharam. The other popular wats to visit are Wat Phra Si Sanphet whih was the location of the royal palace during King Rama I in 1350. Wat Phra Ram, east of the Royal Palace was built in 1369. Wat Phra Mongkonbophit with the huge golden Buddha Wat Ratchaburana was the site of cremation for King Intharachathirat and also his two sons who fought to be king. This wat was built by the third son who took the throne after the death of the king and his two brothers. Wat Chaiwatthanaram - the wat built to merit his mother, King Prasatthong in 1630 - khmer style Wat Yai Chai-mongkol has a reclining Buddha as well. Wat Phanan Choeng at the south Pasak River - unknown who built it...large seated Buddha The Chedi of Queen Surihothai wife of King Chakrapat Leave a Comment
