This chain is all over Thailand and Bang Saen is no exception. If you want to take a break from the local cuisine and have a hankering for pizza, then this is the place to go. You can also order from your hotel room and have it delivered, but note that English isn't spoken and reception might have to help you.
Favorite Dish: Pretty swanky for a pizza chain. They have all different kinds of stuffed crusts and toppings. They also do a salad bar.
Open from 10:30am - 9:30pm.

You can get good quality local food at any of the stalls along Bang Saen 1 Road or Bang Saen Road. It's a little bit less sophisticated in terms of the cutlery and ambience but a great experience and great food nonetheless!
Favorite Dish: Any of the fish curries are great. The mango curries were my favorite. They present the whole fish infused with spices and different fruit or vegetable flavours. Great stuff, your stomach will thank you!

I must have walked by this place 50 times or so before I ate there. It doesn't really stand out and looks more like somebody's house or a private club. Anyway, in the end I gave it a try. The food was quite good and the staff were friendly. My only criticism would be that there seemed to be ants everywhere - we had to move tables in the end.
Favorite Dish: They didn't have any English menus but said they might get some soon. Actually the sign out the front is all in Thai too. I actually ordered by pointing to names of dishes in my Thai phrase book. Nothing was a problem and they were actually quite amused by this method of ordering ;-)

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Bang Saen. You can dine right over the water and take in the sea breeze - a good antidote to the barmy nights in Bang Saen. The food is great and they have an extensive menu.
Most of the fish are caught there and then and prepared as you order them. They have a series of tanks by the entry to the restaurant that were busily emptied and re-filled as we had dinner.
They are open from 4-10pm

I know it's bad form to photograph a meal that has been started, but hard to resist in this case! This restaurant is great. It's indoors if you want to escape the heat and has quite a classy atmosphere. The service is great. It's probably one of the better restaurants in Bang Saen but still quite cheap.
Hinsray Restaurant is attached to the S.S.Bangsaen Hotel.
Favorite Dish: If you like oysters, you'll like this restaurant. Raw, cooked, spicy, salted, they've got it. And great value too!

I have been to Bang Saen twice. On my first visit, I spent four days there in January, 2005. I quickly realised I was on to something. This is a little piece of paradise hidden away from the tourist...
