A statue: a siren?

At the very top of the rocky promontoir there is a statue that looks like a siren.
It is worshipped by the locals as there are some gifts close by.
I'm sorry I could not get more info about it.

Some buddha statues

At the top of the rocky promontoir at one end of the beach there is a small sanctuary with a few Buddha statues.
The location is very picturesque and it is a relaxing spot to watch the sea.

Laem Mae Phim beach

The beach in Laem Mae Phim is sandy, long, wide, and it descends smoothly into the sea: ideal for children.
There are many tourist facilities, though pretty basic, and you can find drinks, food and a chair on the beach very easily (and cheap).
There are some trees along the beach that can provide some shade.

Bedrock Guesthouse: The best for backpackers and flashpackers, Ban Phe

aroggers Says:  Stayed in Bedrock Guesthouse before going to Koh Samet Island as arrived after the last ferry and did not want to spend 2000 baht on a speedboat. Bedrock is i think about 250 metres east of the bus station for buses arriving from Ekamai bus station in Bangkok. They have fan...

Tapaz Restaurant & sports Bar is located in the city center of Ban Phe opposite the main ferry pier. Ban Phe is the mainland gate to Koh Samet Island. This restaurant is not so big but the food especially the thai food is absolutely amazing. They certainly dont do Thai fusion food and maybe thats why its excellent. They also do some great western dishes.

The ambience of this newly renovated restaurant is serene beautiful furniture sports tv for those interested, free wifi, and a cool environment. Service is very good and prices not expensive. For people with a spare hour its a great place to try but you will think the food is outstanding. Careful on the chilli's some dishes are hot so you need to tell them to cut them down if you dont like spicy.

Favorite Dish: Yellow curry chicken perfect certainly a little bite to eat but the curry flavour itself just makes u want to order another dish.

Fish and chips done to perfection and a big portion of fish and the batter is excellent. The chips are made on the spot by peeling and slicing a potato.

frankly i could go on and on u just gotta try and make yr own decision

Cooking on the beach

There are many good and almost luxurious seafood restaurants in Laem Mae Phim, but food from the stalls right on the beach is also very good. Everything is prepared in front of you with fresh ingredients.

Sunset on the beach

Fondest memory: Unless you are a Karaoke fan, evenings are quiet in Lae Mae Phim. Sunsets are usually wonderful especially if you are on the beach.
