Within the area of Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre, there is a small bird park where various types of bird can be seen. Mostly the birds are in cage or proper area. There is some walk ways to do sight seeing and study, one walk way is up higher from the ground so visitors can see them close and feel like be part of them. Here’s a good place for relaxing, take a walk after finish visiting many zones of Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre. There's also aquarium nearby but we were just too tried.

I visited this place few times, sometimes on the way back from Autthaya to Bangkok and once in Loi Krathong Festival. The Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre is a place where farmers from provinces neayby and Ayutthaya come for training in folk arts and crafts. At this centre, you will see how farmers in the four regions live and work, how they make their products of arts and crafts.

The centre was established under Royal Patronage on the 21st July, 1976. Products and activities which can be seen here are Fern Vien Basketry, Weaving Basketry, Artificial Flowers, Hand - Woven Silk and Cotton, Silk Dyeing, Wood Carving, Miniature Hand - Modelled Thai Dolls, Furniture Making, Cloth - Made Products, etc. All the products are sold at the Centre and in every branch of Chitralada Store.

The area of 285 rai (or 14 acres), there are many zones such as exhibitions area, the area of product demonstration and production, souvenir shop, some restaurants and the area for relaxation. There are wooden houses in Thai old style where each house show character of each region of Thailand, the way their living and how different decoration inside the houses. Inside the wooden houses, you can see old furniture, Thai people use in the past, the kitchen, the bedroom in old style. In the past, Thai people lived in a big family, you can notice from the style of house as a combination of small houses inside and terrace in centre as a meeting place for member of family.

The light decoration in Loi KraThong Festival

I once attended Loi Krathong Festival in Bangsai. The festival at Bangsai every year is celebrated and promoted by Tourist Authority of Thailand( TAT). Here's different from the festival in Sukothai or Chiang mai as if you attend festival here you will found more yourself among Thais than those place where more oversea visitors.

In the Festival there, all the houses and buildings are decorated with lights and there is the biggest Krathong on The Chao Phraya River in the area of Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre. If you don't know what Krathong is, pls take a look at my travelogue page.

Highlight are light and sound presentation, beauty pageants, music and folk arts and sales of OTOP products.
